I’m loving nude shades at the moment -not for any particular reason, I just seem to have a lot of nudey things and have been super into them lately.
First up is the Make Up Revolution ‘Essential Shimmers’ palette. I’d never actually tried any of their eye shadow palettes before so I was super excited when my lovely flat mate got me one as a Secret Santa present. I love the fact that it’s full of neutral shades but they’re all so different -it’s really annoying when you get a ‘neutral’ palette and every shade is brown, brown, grey-brown and well.. brown. But this comes with a nice variety of nude tones and despite being named ‘Essential Shimmers’, none of them are super-shimmery so could definitely be worn for daytime make up looks.
Next are my fav nude lip products. Starting from the left with Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick by Rimmel London in shade 03: I bought this quite a long time ago and I still wear it at least once a week. You do have to re-apply a few times during the day but it’s a really nice nude shade and good value at £5.49
At the bottom is Sleek Lip Pencil in shade ‘Bare Essential’. I think I paid around £2/£3 for this, and you get what you pay for. Not the best lip liner I’ve tried, but definitely one worth buying if you’re just experimenting with different colours as it does take a few layers to really see the nude colour but has good staying power.
On the right is one of my favourite lipsticks of all time, Mehr by MAC, £15.50. Although this can barely be classed as a ‘nude’ because it’s actually quite pink on the lips, it looks great with a neutral smokey eye and is fab for an every day lippy.
On my nails at the moment I have a Barry M polish in the shade ‘nude’ – not the most original name in the world, I know. I love all of Barry M’s polishes and this is just one of the dozens I’ve collected over the years. I tend to wear this quite a lot because I’m not supposed to wear nail polish where I work so the subtle colour is good for me.
Last but not least is the foundation that I have been raaaaving about to anyone that will listen – Dream Flawless Nude by Maybelline in shade ‘sun beige’, £8.99. This goes on soooooo smoothly it’s actually ridiculous. It’s really easy to blend and gives great coverage however, it has a really matte finish and you can end up looking a little chalky if you don’t blend it properly. I’ll probably do a proper and more detailed review on this one soon because I do really like it!
